Radio Series 'RadioRadioRadio'

Radio Series 'RadioRadioRadio'

Over the past year, five ICRN members have participated in the Erasmus+ project 'RadioRadioRadio' and jointly produced and broadcast an experimental radio show of nine one-hour episodes and a tenth episode documenting our time in Vilnius this year. Each episode explores a topic concerning young people in Europe today, chosen from a list the partners drafted together at the start of the project.

The format was intentionally loose, but a pattern soon emerged, with 10–15 minute segments from each station mixed together and separated by jingles and short narration. The editor role rotated between the partners from episode to episode. The segments were produced by young members at each station (18-30 year olds).

Looking back on the project, contributors shared that the predetermined topics acted as cues to report on a common topic and is something they'd like to continue into the future. Members also found it very appealing to have their voices broadcast to new audiences abroad, despite the challenge of language.

One idea that came out of this was to try the same concept live, with the studios at each station connected to one another during the broadcast. It’s something ICRN members will surely try sometime soon, so stay tuned.

'RadioRadioRadio' was made possible with support from the EU.
