Lahmacun Radio

Lahmacun is an online music-and-beyond radio based in Budapest, founded in 2018, focusing on the diverse subcultures of the Hungarian capital. In recent years, Lahmacun has also increasingly aimed to initiate and realize cultural projects, with a particular interest in contemporary visual art and culture, also socially engaged topics. The radio is sustained by its community of show hosts and volunteers, who collectively work to mediate contemporary cultural values. We also collaborated with several other web radios and part of international networks such as ICRN and Reset! network.

Lahmacun Radio is currently entering a new phase, working towards a more physically visible and accessible presence. While continuing its regular broadcasting format, the initiative plans to establish a new location that will host the studio and a closely connected, community-oriented pub as part of an expanded cultural space.
